Anti-ragging cell

Objective: 

        The aim of anti-ragging cell is to create a positive and friendly environment within the college campus to prohibit any kind of misconduct in any form by anyone which has the ill effect of ragging / harassment, mental or physical.   

Anti-ragging cell established keeping the following goals in mind. 

1. A complaint box has been placed in front of the IQAC room of the college for lodging complaint, if any, by the students.
2. To uphold the dignity of college by ensuring a hostile free environment in the institution by maintaining a friendly student-student and student-teacher relationship.
3. Encouraging the students to voice their complaint openly and honestly, without any fear.
4. Cautioning the student against stirring up troubles among themselves, their teachers, other staff members or college administration. 
5. To ensure proper campaign against ragging through posters/notices in an open & prominent place and proper counseling.
6. To raise voice against any kind of ragging within or outside the college campus or in the college hostel and to ensure that this type of practice is completely forbidden because it is a punishable offence as per UGC guideline.

Functions: 

It is the duty of the cell to handle any situation swiftly regarding any complaints received from the students. The anti-ragging cell will formally examine each instance and take necessary steps as per the guideline of the UGC & Higher Education Dept. Govt. of W.B.

If any instance remains unresolved and needs guidance from higher authorities, the cell would forward the problem to the appropriate place. Anti- ragging squad was also formed for surprise visit in the campus during the college hours and is active throughout the year.

A few minor incident of misbehavior was reported in last 5 years and the matter was discussed in the meeting of the disciplinary committee / Grievance cell and the problems were solved.

A new anti-ragging cell was formed as per UGC guidelines on 26/08/2023 with the following members:

We are thankful to our administration and proud of our beloved students because not a single instance of ragging/harassments (mental or physical) took place during last five years.
